1. This promotion is open to anyone with the exception of employees of the participating agencies.
2. The promotion is valid from 1st November 2009 until 31st March 2010. All entries must be received at the offices of North East Victoria Tourism Inc, PO Box 502, Bright VIC 3741.
3. MAJOR PRIZE DRAW: Participants must complete at least four of the seven resort climbs by bicycle and submit an Alpine Ascent Challenge Boarding Pass with the specific validation for each climb to be eligible to win the major prize. Participants will be awarded with one entry for each additional peak completed. Maximum of four entries per person. Entrants must return their boarding pass with at least four resort validations and complete personal details. Incomplete entries will be ineligible. Participants will also go into the draw for the peak prizes, for each peak they complete and validate with the relevant resort stamp.
4. PEAK PRIZE DRAWS: Participants will go into the draw for each peak they complete and validate with the relevant resort stamp. Participants will also go into the major prize draw if they complete four of the seven resort climbs outlined. Entrants must return their boarding pass and complete personal details. Incomplete entries will be ineligible.
5. Participating Resorts include: Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort, Mount Buffalo National Park (represented by Parks Victoria), Mt Buller Alpine Resort, Dinner Plain Alpine Village, Falls Creek Alpine Resort, Hotham Alpine Resort and Lake Mountain Alpine Resort.
6. The winning entries of all prizes will be drawn from a barrel on 12th April 2010 at 10am in the offices of the Rural City of Wangaratta, 62-68 Ovens Street, Wangaratta VIC 3676. The winner will be notified by mail and confirmed by phone. The results of the competition will be posted on the website www.alpineascentchallenge.com.au and printed in the Herald Sun on 19th April 2010. If for any reason another draw is required, it will be held on 26th April 2010 at the same time and place mentioned above.
7. MAJOR PRIZE: The major prize is up to the value of $18,000 and includes: 2 x return economy airfares from Melbourne to Paris and 2 x places in Tour One of Phil Andersons guided tours to the 2010 Tour de France. Tour One runs from 5th to 14th of July 2010 and includes accommodation, breakfast, most dinners, transport to and between stages, guide services and mechanical assistance. The winner will be responsible for any transfers, additional transport, medical expenses, spending money, insurance or expenses incurred that are not included specifically in the tour. 8. PEAK PRIZES: Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort: One night in our Altitude Apartment (deluxe accommodation). Excludes public holidays and long weekends. Valid: Dec 2010 - Mar 2011. Up to the value of $160. Mount Buffalo National Park (represented by Parks Victoria): One 12 month vehicle pass for Victorian National Parks (includes Mount Buffalo, Wilsons Promontory, Mornington Peninsula and Point Nepean). Valid: For 12 months from first visit. Must be activated prior to Jan 2011. Up to the value of $75. Mt Buller Alpine Resort: Two nights accommodation for two people (double or twin share) at the Mt Buller Chalet including a meal to the value of $200 at the Black Cockatoo Restaurant. Valid: Nov 2010 - May 2011. Up to the value of $600. Dinner Plain Alpine Village: Two nights accommodation for two (double or twin share) in a luxury self contained apartment in Dinner Plain. Bottle of wine on arrival and hydro passes to the Onsen Retreat and Spa. Valid: Nov 2010 - June 2011. Up to the value of $490. Falls Creek Alpine Resort: Two nights accommodation at Nelse Lodge (for two people). Includes breakfast daily. Valid: Nov 2010 - May 2011. Up to the value of $280. Hotham Alpine Resort: Two nights accommodation in a Zirky's Lodge Room, including breakfast daily. Plus entry for two to the Cool Summer Festival at Hotham, held in February. Valid: 19th - 21st Feb 2011. Up to the value of $380. Lake Mountain Alpine Resort: One night accommodation for two at the 5 star Delderfield Luxury Bed and Breakfast in Marysville, with a $50 voucher to spend at Heights Bar and Bistro. Includes gourmet cooked breakfast, plus muscat and chocolates on arrival. Valid: Nov 2010 - May 2011. Up to the value of $350.
9. Total promotion prize value including major prize and peak prizes: up to the value of $20,335.
10. Use of Information: Participant information will be shared by the participating agencies and may be used to deliver promotional material and information specific to the resorts. Participant information will not be distributed to agencies not involved in this promotion.
11. This promotion is a joint initiative of: Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort Management Board, Parks Victoria, Mt Buller and Mt Stirling Alpine Resort Management Board, Dinner Plain Management Committee, Falls Creek Alpine Resort Management Board, Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board and Lake Mountain Alpine Resort Management Board and North East Victoria Tourism Inc. It is managed by North East Victoria Tourism Inc.
12. All participants acknowledge that cycling involves risks and hazards and agree to hold harmless and indemnify all partners identified in section 11 of the terms and conditions against any and all losses they may suffer as a result of attempting or participating in any part of this promotion.
13. All prizes are non transferable and not redeemable for cash. The Major Prize is only valid for the first tour of the 2010 Tour de France.
